Alternative route

After last year's event, which could only be carried out on the short route due to the bad weather forecasts, the OC dealt with the elaboration of an alternative route.

This route leads from the Lower Engadin to the Upper Engadin and then on the proven Puter route from S-chanf back to Scuol. The highest point of the race is at 2'000 m.a.s.l. so that the track can be used even in cold temperatures (and possible snowfall). The track lengths are laid out in such a way that they come quite close to the original distances. For the long distance the distance is approx. 110 km and 2700 HM, for the middle distance approx. 78 km and 1'500 HM and the short distance 47 km and 870 HM as usual. The advantage of this route is that the OC can wait relatively long for the decision, as the signalling and organisation of the route is not too complex. The OC is constantly working on optimising the route, so all details should be treated with caution until further notice, as they are still provisional. However, we are convinced that we can offer the participants an attractive alternative in case the weather or forecasts causes problems for us again in the future. As soon as the alternative route is fixed and all details are known, we will publish it.
