- What does the National Park Bike Marathon mean to you personally?
The National Park Bike Marathon is a very special event for me.
I have already taken part in this unique and scenically beautiful race several times. For the first time as a child in the Big & Small category. Even back then, it was something very special to ride past my home village of Ardez in a race. Later, I conquered the Livignasco course (of which I even found a photo) or raced as a team with my colleagues. Having returned to my home in the Engadin, I am now part of the organising committee as part of my new job. I'm really looking forward to seeing the event from the organisational side and helping to shape it.
- What motivates you to give it your all every year?
As co-organiser, I can offer the participants a unique race and experience.
It's a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic landscapes and varied bike paths and trails of our destinations. Another thing that has always impressed me about the National Park Bike Marathon is how the whole population supports the event and how so many people help out every year on a voluntary basis.
- What drives you to be part of this great event/team?
The happy and proud faces of the finishers, the passionate helpers and also the cooperation with the organising committee colleagues is a huge motivation to give your best.
It's also great to see how the event and the organisation have developed over the years. I used to be able to take part myself, but now, as part of the organising committee, I can give something back to the event and the region.
- What do you do when you're not organising the bike marathon?
In my free time, I am still a passionate mountain biker and spend a lot of time on our beautiful trails. However, I'm now more downhill-orientated. ;) I also do a lot of other sports, including mountaineering, climbing and, in winter, skiing, ski touring and cross-country skiing. My favourite place is at home in the Engadin. Being able to live, work and pursue my hobbies here again is a real privilege.
